The Professional Part

Welcome! My name is Mubashshir Zakir. I am software developer and entrepreneur. This webpage is just a casual introduction to myself.

I am a founder and the CTO at Locumunity. A health technology company currently focused on helping locum doctors find jobs. We have created a two way matching algorithm so that when a job is posted, the employer has access to the people most likely to accept the immediately.

Finally, a project very dear to my heart - I am a co-founder of Swift Health. Starting with revolutionizing occupational therapy services for pediatric clients, we wish to offer intuitive tracking tools to help children with developmental delays (kids with autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, etc).

A professional goal of mine is to make something that helps people. If I can take my skills and automate small things that make a small difference in someones life or day for the positive. That would be amazing.

The Not So Professional Part

When I am not working on the above tasks...I still can't help but make stuff. I have an affinity for making prototypes and I love hackathons. Fun projects I am working on include natural language processing, systems that help me beat my friends in hockey pool, and an auto balancing/algorithm trading system using the Questrade api.

I also watch a lot of TV and love my psychological thriller movies. All time favorite show would have to be The Wire, and a recent favourite is Westworld.

I am also very fascinated by the different cultures of the world and I have a personal goal to try to travel to one new city and if possible new country each year.

"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
